About Royal Dornoch
The history and reputation of Royal Dornoch Golf Club and its two, world-class natural links courses, makes it one of the must-play venues for players around the world.
The Championship Course is revered by professionals and amateurs alike and in 2018 was ranked 2nd best in the world by Golf Digest.
Golf in Dornoch can be traced back to the early 17th century, and some claim even earlier. Long before there was a golf club, the game was played on the town lands on the links along the seashore.
Dornoch Golf Club was formed in 1877. The first 18-hole course was laid out in 1886 by Old Tom Morris, who extended the original nine holes and introduced the trademark plateau greens.
The Championship Course has hosted a number of leading events, including the 2015 Jacques Léglise Trophy, the 2016 Northern Open and the Boys Home Internationals in 2018.
System2 supports Royal Dornoch in promoting the famous club and brand around the world.
After hosting brand workshops with staff and office bearers, we devised and implement clear and consistent brand messages to use on the club’s website, social media and all other platforms.
Our PR and marketing strategy ensures the Royal Dornoch experience embraces all aspects of the club. It keeps members, visitors and the wider world up to date via news releases, blogs and social media posts on events on the course, in the clubhouse, the Pro shop and within the community.
Accolades like the Golf Digest world ranking and the GEO Certified ecolabel, an international symbol of great golf environments awarded last year, demonstrate Royal Dornoch’s international standing and System2’s support is helping maintain and enhance that reputation.
