About the Highland Golf Links Pro Am
The prestigious Highland Golf Links Pro Am sponsored by Tomatin is an annual event played over three world famous championship courses at Castle Stuart, Royal Dornoch and Nairn.
The 54-hole event, to be held from 30 September to 2 October 2019, is one of the richest on the PGA in Scotland Tour and this year is limited to 60 teams from around the world.
Globally-renowned whisky distillers Tomatin have returned as headline sponsors. Tomatin were the tournament’s original sponsors, from 2012-2015, and helped establish it as one of the most coveted events on the Scottish golfing calendar.
A unique aspect of this year’s event is that, in addition to the first place cheque, the winning professional will pick up a bottle of 50-year-old Tomatin single malt which has been bottled exclusively for the event and has an estimated value of £10,000.
System2 has collaborated with these international brands to launch this year’s event and help attract competitors from home and abroad. It has previously welcomed teams from across the UK, as well as from Sweden, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Doha and the US.
The event generates an estimated £300,000 in off-peak income for the north of Scotland.
System2 has worked on the Pro Am since its inception in 2012 and has helped it grow into one of the richest and most coveted on the PGA in Scotland Tour.
This year, we created a bespoke, eye-catching and engaging Pro Am website to showcase some new and unique aspects of the competition.
The website makes it easier for competitors to learn about the event and its supporters and also to enter, encouraging international entries within days of the site going live.
Working closely with Tomatin, the three golf courses and the PGA in Scotland, along with other new sponsors TaylorMade and the Black Isle Brewery and event partners Culloden House and the Kingsmills Hotel, in Inverness, System2 developed and distributed a news release to launch the new-look competition.
We also devised and executed a social media strategy to promote the Pro Am and its supporters and, in addition, designed supporting materials to promote the event at international trade events, including the PGA Show in Orlando, Florida.
